William (Bill) Finelli is a seasoned global business leader with over 27 years of diversified financial and operational experience. He has significant expertise in global real estate, corporate acquisitions, business reorganizations and turnarounds, fund launches, global tax structuring and implementation of reporting systems and controls and post-merger integrations. Bill is also a strong and effective, people manager with a talent for team building, development and change management.
Bill’s experience includes 19 years at BlackRock as Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer for Real Estate within the BlackRock Alternatives Investors platform. He was responsible for Financial Management, Information Technology, Client Accounting and Reporting, Valuations, Asset Management and Business Operations.
Bill was a member of the BlackRock’s Real Estate Global Executive Committee as well as the Chairman of the Americas Investment Committee and Valuations Committee. He also served as the sole inside member of the Board of Directors for the U.S. Open End and Closed End funds. He had also functioned as the head of BlackRock‘s U.S. Real Estate platform and also as Chief Financial Officer.
During his tenure at BlackRock, Real Estate Assets Under Management grew from less than $2 billion to over $24 billion while expanding its business platform to operations in many other countries, including: The United Kingdom; Australia; Luxembourg; France; Germany; Poland; Hong Kong; Singapore; and Japan.
Most recently Bill has been providing consulting services to various clients, with services including: developing strategic business plans; product profitability studies; policies and procedures reviews; reorganization consulting; and reviews of lines of businesses.
Bill is a graduate of Rutgers University with a BA degree in Accounting and earned his CPA certificate in New Jersey (inactive).
